As we mentioned in TUR, Sir T Daunt is ready to take up the cases of conspicuous consumption by the garrison with the MOD. Mr Goodlad is holding a meeting on 17 March to consider next steps.

We would therefore be grateful for any more detail you can provide deskby 17090OZ on the problems indentified in para 7B of first TUR, and any other ideas you have for cutting support costs of the garrison (para 7C). It would also be useful to know where your discussions stand with the MOD on setting up a better dialogue on the scale of garrison activities and the detail of its funding.
