GOVERNMENT PRINTING DEPARTMENT

In the

disturbances or

event of emergencies (e.g. civil natural calamities) the Government may require, at short notice, essential printing to be done, not necessarily in large quantities.

Such material may include Gazette Notices, emergency forms, Government publicity matter and such printing requirements from the private sector as may be authorised. The responsibility for printing such items falls on the Government Printing Department.

EMERGENCY PRINTING TEAM

An Emergency Printing Team has been formed, comprising senior officers and with the Government Printer as Controller. Only senior officers are `required to serve in the Team, for security reasons and the team is established to produce only the minimum essential requirements by simple methods. A team members' home telephone list is supplied to all team members for communication outside office hours.

A call for mobilisation should originate from the Controller. When mobilisation is called for outside office hours, the Controller and Assistant Controller will inform all other members by telephone.

On being notified, all members should make an effort to return to the factory at the earliest opportunity. Transport expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with existing regulations. Members should carry their departmental identity cards and, if necessary, curfew warrants.
