The Royal Navy undertakes regular patrols in support of the Marine Police. Naval reinforcements will be deployed if it is necessary to discourage armed aggression or incursion, or to offer armed resistance, or in
support of a Marine Police launch under threat by a more heavily armed vessel.

The Army undertakes small boat patrols in Deep Bay and Starling Inlet and around the Tolo Peninsular in liaison with and where appropriate under direction of Marine Police.

Within the areas of Deep Bay and Mirs Bay mentioned in paragraph 35 (g), vessels of the various Chinese authorities operating therein, provided they are engaged in their legitimate business, should be observed but not otherwise interfered with.

If a Chinese military or security force vessel is sighted within the square box other than in the area mentioned in paragraph 35 (g), the fact is to be reported to Marine Police Regional Command and Control Centre (Tel 366 5827) at once. If there is any doubt about the reasons for its presence it may be stopped and enquiries made of its commander.
