The following points need to be borne in
the Director of Government Supplies normally holds approximately three to six months' stock of general and medical stores;

which envisage special requirements in an emergency should let DGS know in 'peace time' so that he can make his own plans; and
camp-beds (probably the most common emergency stores item) are stockpiled at AMS depots throughout Hong Kong and requests for their issue may be made direct to AMSHQ. (see Chapter 11, Part I).
