PASSENGERS AND CREWS ON OCEAN-GOING SHIPS

During a curfew all passengers and crew members other than those arriving to take up temporary or permanent residence in Hong Kong may be required to stay on board ship. (There are now very few large passenger ships operating to and from Hong Kong and virtually all these liners berth at the Ocean Terminal.) Residents will be allowed to disembark only at the following points :

(a) Hong Kong Island
Queen's Pier and/or Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal (depending on the circumstances);
(b) Kowloon
The Wharf (Holdings) Limited,
(including Ocean Terminal), the Kwai Chung Container Terminal (i.e. Modern Terminals Ltd., Hong Kong International Terminals Ltd. and Sea-Land Orient Ltd.), the Tai Kok Tsui Ferry Pier and the China Ferry Terminal at Tsim Sha Tsui. The latter closes between 2200 and 0600 hours daily; CIQ facilities not available during this period.
Such passengers may have to be accommodated near their point of disembarkation until they can be safely conducted to their homes or hotels.
PUBLICITY

The Marine Department Publicity Unit will liaise with the Combined Information Centre (CIC) to publicise emergency arrangements affecting the Port.

It will be the responsibility of the Emergency Port Control Committee (EPOCC) (see paragraph 2 of Section 2) to advise local and international shipping interests of the risks of
delay to shipping using the port and to publicise any emergency arrangements affecting the port.
