The Mass Transit Railway Corporation will
to provide a full or restricted public passenger service according to circumstances prevailing; and
to provide a carriage service for Government stores or personnel (e.g. Police).

The MTRC can move large numbers of persons rapidly from one area to another regardless of most surface conditions. Sections of the system or individual stations can be closed and re-opened at short notice according to circumstances prevailing and depending on the lcoation of crossovers between tracks. Conversely, the MTRC can rapidly disgorge an unwelcome crowd into a trouble spot.

The MTRC will operate a normal service during initial disturbances not accompanied by a curfew, although some stations or sections of the system may be closed on the advice of the Police, after as much notice to the public as possible.
SECURITY
4.
MTR Police District will remain on duty with MTRC during a time of internal unrest.
