CHAPTER 11
(a)
disasters due to natural causes, such as typhoons and rainstorms;
(b)
other
disasters,
including
major
aircraft crashes and large-scale fires;
(c)
major epidemics;
(a) civil disturbances;
(e) an influx of illegal immigrants
or refugees;
(f) armed conflict in the region,
affecting Hong Kong either directly or indirectly; and
(g)
any other emergencies.
3.
In any of the above situations, the Auxiliary Medical Services may be called upon to provide trained, disciplined, and equipped personnel under the command of their Own officers.
4.
The
main
duties
of AMS during
emergencies are:
(a) to reinforce the existing emergency services in both Government, HA and other medical institutions;
(b)

(d)
to set up auxiliary hospital units in schools and other suitable premises;
to reinforce existing Government clinics and to
up additional dressing
set
stations as required;
to provide service;
support to the ambulance
