28.
LPG is stored in bulk at all the major oil depots and bulk deliveries are made by special LPG tank trucks to bulk installations in housing estates, factories, hospitals, institutions, etc.
In the event of an emergency, normal distribution will be maintained where possible and each supplying company will be responsible for reporting difficulties with deliveries to the Oil Supplies Unit when activated or through '999' if the Unit has not been activated.
29.
Bulk users of LPG would normally have stocks on hand to last several days, giving suppliers time to assess demands and priority deliveries. Suppliers should make owners of bulk installations aware of their responsibility for the security of gas stocks through liaison with Oil Supplies Unit when activated or with the local police station if the Unit has not been activated. If necessary it is possible, on a limited and temporary basis, to replace bulk supplies by smaller LPG cylinders, particularly in respect of domestic consumers.
