Physical and
production plants at
perimeter security of the Ma Tau Kok and Tai Po are well protected and controlled by the Company's Own security force. The uniformed personnel providing the security are screened before employment and they are trained and well equipped. The Tai Po site incorporates a comprehensive CCTV surveillance system along its boundaries and a security and fire vehicle is available for mobile patrol within the site. Competent fire fighters and first aiders are available.
In the event of an emergency, they are
likely to be dependable.

Under circumstances where the loyalty of personnel is doubtful or may be strained the Company will arrange to operate with a reduced staff. It is essential that plans for the carrying out of such reductions are organised with great care and in detail because during the period of the reduction a disturbance may be stimulated with resultant damage to plant. The co-operation of police may be required for the safe carrying out of this operation.

Attempts would be made to continue deploying contract labour working for the Company at the time. Any employees required to work in a curfew would be required to carry warrants (which the Company will obtain from Security Branch or the Police).

Apart from sabotage there is also the danger of sit-in strikes. In this case the co-operation of the police will again be required. If it becomes necessary
to declare any installation a 'Closed Area', this will be done with the assistance of the Police (see chapter 3, Part IV). Until trouble actually arises it is the responsibility of the Company to appoint guards.
17.
In the event of a specific threat to one of the Company's installations, security forces would be deployed accordingly. Until trouble actually arises, it is the responsibility of the Company to appoint its own guards for these. The Company also maintains its Own mobile Security Patrol Service equipped with a radio. In the event of an emergency the routine patrol would be withdrawn and patrols only despatched in response to a request.
