The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited will ensure the production and distribution of gas in times of civil disturbance. The interests of law and order will be the measure of priorities for the distribution of gas.

The maintenance of gas supply is especially necessary because of the dependence of some organisations (e.g. hospitals) on gas for providing food and hot water. Ideally, there should be no general reductions in supply, but only selective cuts to certain non-essential consumers.

The
supply is
primary threat to the continuance of that of sabotage carried out either internally or externally. Provided there is no major with production, transmission or distribution plant it is likely supplies can be maintained for the following reasons :

expected that the gas load will reduced; and
