All non priority postal services will be suspended until the lifting of the curfew. The Postmaster General may suspend all postal services in the affected areas.

The airport may be closed for normal traffic and may process emergency flights only. After consultation with the GSECC, the PMG will decide whether to continue or stop the movement of airmail.

Similarly, a decision on whether to continue loading/unloading of seamail will be taken by the PMG dependent upon the situation prevailing at the time.

Operations During Curfews

Essential personnel whose normal place of work is GPO, IMC or AMC will report accordingly and deal with the clearance of external mail to and from ships and aircraft to the extent that this may be practicable, preference being given as necessary to Great Britain and Commonwealth points. The Speedpost Service will be maintained as far as practicable.

Essential personnel at Branch Offices in areas under curfew will attend their place of duty. As curfew breaks occur, Branch Offices will open for the duration of the curfew breaks for the sale of stamps only. Parcel business will not be transacted nor will remittance services. Limited counter

service will be provided at the GPO, Tsim Sha Tsui in similar circumstances.
