Identity Card Section

13.

All members of Auxiliary Units (RHKAAF, RHKR (V) etc.) should be in possession of their relevant unit and Hong Kong identity cards prior to the start of an emergency. There may, however, be cases where either one or both of their identity cards are not available.

14.

The object of this Section is to provide an emergency service by the issue of Polaroid identity cards to those members of Auxiliary Units who require them. A person will have to attend in person for the issue of this identity card.

The strength of this section will be three Immigration Officers, three Photographers and three Clerks. In addition, there should be a reserve of one Immigration Officer, one Photographer and one Clerk. This Section will function at the ROP Administration Section, 8/F, Wanchai Tower II, 7, Gloucester Road, Wanchai. By adopting the Polaroid

(ID-3) system, 85 cards can be produced in one shift by one camera. This team will be able to produce 250 cards per shifts.

There are five Polaroid ID-3 cameras in the Immigration Department. If necessary, additional Polaroid cameras can be obtained from the local agent, Polaroid Far East Ltd, or borrowed from the Police.

Feeding

17. If normal arrangements fail, the Rations Officer of Food Immigration Emergency Unit HQ will be asked to feed members of the Immigration Emergency Unit (see Chapter 12, Part IV).
