The Director of Fire Services, subject to the orders and control of the Governor, is charged with the supreme direction and administration of the Fire Services Department (Cap. 95, Laws of Hong Kong). All Fire Services resources available in Hong Kong, including such resources as the Auxiliary Medical Service or any other services may make available to him, will be deployed as instructed by the Director. The task of the Fire Services Department will be to protect life and property in the likely event of increased outbreaks of fire and other calamities arising from civil disturbances.
DEPLOYMENT OF FIRE APPLIANCES AND AMBULANCES

Fire resources are deployed at fire and ambulance stations throughout the territory. According to the situation, the Director may further redploy such resources to other locations, through radio or other communication means.
CONTROL

The normal method of control will continue in any emergency. The Fire Services Communication Centre, which houses the Fire and Ambulance Controls, is established at the Fire Services Headquarters. Building, No 1 Hong Chong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui East. The Director of Fire Services can communicate with all Fire Services resources and, if necessary, is able to assume personal control over any or all resources available to him.
