units.

If

civil disturbances are considered likely, CP is responsible for bringing the Police Force to progressively higher states of readiness, by means of cancelling leave, mobilising Police Tactical Units and issuing warning orders to Auxiliary Police Should circumstances dictate, CP will order 'Force Mobilisation' which requires the whole Force, including Auxiliaries, to move into the Internal Security (IS) structure. Normal police duties will be curtailed and all leave will be cancelled so that the majority of Force members will be available for formation into IS Companies, Light Striking Forces and other specialist units. These units are trained to carry

out a variety of duties, including suppression of riots, escort duties and guarding of key points. Other elements of the Force will be organised to provide administrative and logistic support, including the provision of intelligence, transport, communications and catering facilities.

POLICE COMMAND AND CONTROL

3.

The Commissioner of Police will exercise command of the Force through Headquarters Command and Control Centre (a joint Police-Military operations room) and subordinate Regional Command and Control Centres. Most Police IS units would be grouped under these Command and Control Centres, but CP retain a central tactical reserve under Headquarters Command and Control Centre.
