WARNING: Under the nationality laws of some countries a person will automatically lose his or her nationality if he or she becomes a citizen of another country. If you have any questions about this you should ask the authorities of the county of which you are a citizen before you make an application.

THE REQUIREMENTS YOU HAVE TO MEET

The '5 years residence' requirements

The 5 year period is the period ending with the date your application is received in the Immigration Department.

Example It your application is received in the Immigration Department on

31 March 1993, the 5 year period will be from 1 April 1978 to 31 March 1983.
