1992/93 AO Recruitment
The Public Service Commission has endorsed the recommendation to appoint 27 (19 local and 8 overseas)
candidates. So far 20 candidates have accepted appointments (15 local and 5 overseas) and 14 officers have reported for duty.
1993/94 AO Recruitment
About 4 900 local applications have been received. Overseas advertisements will be published in mid-to-late September. The closing date for overseas applications is 8 October. The Common Recruitment Examination will be held on 6 November.

Beijing Course Feedback on the first course has been positive. Members found the training, in particular the lectures at Tsinghua University, useful. Arrangements for the last two weeks' visits could be improved. The second course started on 20 September with 21 officers participating.
Seminar conducted by HKU and CUHK - A second series of 8 seminars for officers at MPS Pt 45 and above will be run at HKU from 22 October to 10 December, and at CUHK in early 1994.
HK/China Interface Seminar at CSTC The next series consisting of five afternoon sessions will be run for Directorate staff during 15-24 November.
Familiarisation Visit The first visit in 1993 has taken place in early September. It is hoped that more of these visits could be arranged.
