From calendar days to working days
At present, a proportion of leave entitlement is taken on a working day basis, the remainder on a calendar day basis. The proportion varies amongst staff with different leave earning rates. The amount of leave assumed to be taken on a calendar day basis is converted into working days by eliminating all intervening Saturdays and Sundays: thus, 15 calendar days is converted to 12 working days.
Based on the proposed leave earning rates, the entire period of absence from duty, if an officer takes all leave in one stretch, would be as follows:
