The normal age, date, authority for approving and period of notice of retirement of a Category B officer are the same as those for a Category A officer (see CSRR 327 (1) - (7) and 329).
Conditions under which premature retirement may be approved under Pensions Ordinance Cap 89
Pensions Regulation 26(4)(bb), Cap 89 provides for voluntary retirement, with the approval of the Governor, between the ages of 45 and 55 years. The conditions under which premature retirement may be approved are the same as those for a Category A officer (see CSR 332(2) (8)).

Withdrawal of application to retire prematurely
The conditions under which premature retirement may be withdrawn is the same as those for a Category A officer (see CSR 333).
The grant of retirement benefits to a Category B officer is covered by Part V of the Pensions Regulations, Cap. 89 or Pension Benefits Ordinance, Cap. 99.
The Director of Accounting Services should be notified by memorandum of any retirement authorised under CSRR 351 and 352.
