A woman officer who was appointed to an established office on a date prior to the removal of the marriage bar on 17 November 1972 and subsequently confirmed to the permanent establishment and marries may, if she wishes, elect to retire from the service with the benefits due to her, if she is eligible for such benefits.
Women officers appointed prior to 17 November 1972 in the following grades/rank who intend to retire upon marriage should inform the authority shown opposite their grade or rank, through their Departments, giving at least one month's notice :
