requests for pension safeguards
The Administration is examining the details of the partial funding proposal, including the size, scope and means of operation of such a fund and the financial implications on HKG and the future SARG. The Chinese will be involved in the discussion through the JLG.
A decision on whether to set up such a fund is to be taken by the end of 1994.
The staff councils are
pressing for an early decision on the proposal and the setting up of a joint working group to monitor progress.
