1. As promised in our telecon of Friday 18 September, I enclose a copy of Miss Brooks' minute of 15 September, outlining her reservations about Special Condition 14; reservations which we and OED wholly share.
Could I ask that you now revert to Buildings and Lands and explore the possibility of either:

a) deleting Special Condtion 14; or
b) improving (drastically) the compensation provision
therein.
We regret asking you to do this when we had thought, (and had led Buildings & Lands to expect) that we were on the point of engrossing, but I think the arguments are clear enough: we risk being seriously disadvantaged by the compensation provisions currently on offer and, moreover, we do not face this form of discriminatory provision in any of our other leases, anywhere else in the world.
