SBTC'S AD HOC HONG KONG COORDINATING COMMITTEE

TERMS OF REFERENCE

1.

The Senior British Trade Commissioner will convene an ad hoc committee bringing together the future users of the British Consulate General building in Hong Kong, in order:

a) to consider revisions to the Farrell design; to advise the Steering Committee on how far they meet the needs of the end user; and to suggest any

improvements; and

b) to advise the Steering Committee on other issues relevant to the construction of the building.

The committee will be consulted especially at the key stages of:

i)

ii)

Post Brief Sketches;

Preliminary sketch plans;

iii) Final sketch plans;

and after any significant alterations to the design.

Presentations of designs will be arranged by OED's Project Manager (Mr Newey). The Committee may seek technical advice from OED's local Project Manager (Mr Holdaway of Swire Properties Projects Ltd). and advice and information as necessary from HKG, and the British Chamber of Commerce.

4. The committee should submit their advice to the Steering Committee through HKD's Project Coordinator (Mr Morris), copied to the Project Manager (Mr Newey).

It is not part of the committee's brief to advise or instruct the Architects. Instructions to Farrells will be issued by the Project Manager, under the authority of the Steering Committee.
