Consular Passport and Immigration Sections Existing functions on 2nd, 3rd and 9th floors are similar to those envisaged in the SOR but on a grander scale. To further clarify the brief I am passing round copies of model layouts for Passport and Entry Clearance Sections: the latter is another title for the Immigration and Visa Section: the security point in each of the diagrams should, as described in the SOR, be common to both. Consular, Passport and Immigration Sections can be on separate floors. There is a connection betwen Consular and Passports but not Immigration Section except that from the security viewpoint it is sensible to have a common public building entrance and security control.

The following points came up during the visits and need further clarification:-

(a) Mr Jarvis is available today (4/3) and tomorrow

morning to answer direct questions about BTC functions. Thereafter any questions about the BTC and the other Sections visited should be directed to John Holdaway of SWIRE PROPERTIES LTD.

(b)

The budget for the project includes office furniture and furnishings but not specialised equipment such as audio visual equipment. The budget also includes furniture and furnishings for staff units of accommodation plus cooker and fridge freezer for the kitchen: space and power should be provided for a washing machine.
