and were accompanied by six schedules which increased

the total number of pages to just over 180. Between

3.00 p.m. on Friday 12th June, to approximately midday

on Monday 15th June, 1992, Mr. Underwood together with

a member of his staff and a member of the Legal

Adviser's Branch of the Home Office prepared a written

submission and written summary and assessment of the

Representations.

Those documents were presented to

the Home Secretary together with the applicant's

Representations and extracts from various judgments of

the court in relation to earlier applications made by

Mr. Osman (copies of which were provided to the court)

at approximately midday on Monday the 15th June.

These papers were read by the Home Secretary between

2.00 p.m. and 3.30p.m. on the same day. The Home

Secretary then met his advisers and the meeting

continued until 3.50 p.m.

when the Home Secretary

signed the order for the applicant's return. A total

of

approximately one hour and fifty minutes was
