The Rt. Hon. The Lord Taylor of Gosforth,
The Lord Chief Justice of England,
The House of Lords.
London SW1A OAA.
25th Oct. 1992
Dear Lord Taylor,
Lorrain Osman
I wrote to you once before about this case. At the time
all that was required to satisfy the requirements of public justice, was a review of the officers handling the prosecution and their conduct, especially in Hong Kong. Neither you nor anyone else has seen fit to even query a prosecution in which the prosecutor is serving 8 years in jail for corruption, and in which the High Court itself has seen evidence that the prosecutor's boss, the Attorney General of Hong Kong, colluded with a corrupt Malaysian official and
offered to bend the law.
For those and the reasons that I have set out to the two
judges concerned, I have publicly repudiated and condemned
the public interest immunity certificate granted by the High Court in June 1990 and am seeking an urgent publication
of the documents to which it refers. I have informed the
Foreign Office of what I am doing and have asked them
to respond in 7 days. Unless the High Court is satisfied that
the FCO is the principle in the matter, and should deal with
it, I would be grateful for an urgent response.
