CONFIDENTIAL

In the circumstances, may I call upon you for your advice and assistance in the matter generally. I would be particularly grateful to hear your view as to who is the most appropriate person within HMG to apply appropriate pressure (this would possibly be the Home Secretary bearing in mind his dealings in the Osman case). A very much more detailed account of the Saniman case is available should you or your colleagues wish to study it.

I am afraid that there is some urgency in this matter and I would be most grateful to have your early advice.

Youn

ever

Jeremy

(J.F. Mathews ) Attorney General
