Event
HK's first request to France for DRS' extradition to face 17 charges of theft and six charges of false accounting/forgery
Appeal Court of Paris rejects the first extradition request on the grounds that the facts alleged are not theft under French law and that, in relation to the false accounting/forgery charges, there is not a sufficient connection between DRS and the acts complained of
HX's second extradition request seeks DRS return to face 33 charges being :
5 x conspiracy to defraud
5 x conspiracy to steal
7 x theft
6 x false accounting
10 x corruption
The Appeal Court of Versaille recommends DRS' extradition to face two charges of conspiracy to defraud and three charges of theft
The Cour De Cassation upholds the decision of 30.10.90
MOJ gives the British Embassy formal notification of its decision not to proceed further with the extradition saying that the alleged conspiracies to defraud are not offences under French law and that there are no new facts in relation to the three charges of theft to justify departing from the decision in relation to them on the first request
Osman's Counsel says in court in Malaysia that the MOJ refused to proceed because of the "Jalil documents" which we believe to be forgeries
