documents which had recently come to light in Hong Kong supported his argument. As in the fourth habeas corpus application, Mr Osman applied for discovery of numerous documents held by the Foreign and

Commonwealth Office. The seventh application was rejected on 28

February. The Court again rejected the application for the

discovery of documents.

Mr Osman has petitioned for leave to appeal to the House of Lords against the judgment in each of the first six habeas corpus

applications. His petitions have all been refused. In the case of

the seventh application, the question of appeal has still to be

decided.

Mr Osman has also made two applications against the United Kingdom

to the European Commission of Human Rights. Both were deemed

inadmissible, the first in March 1989 and the second in January

1991.
