Annex
6.
A breakdown by class and occupational group of the principal applicants registered is at the Annex. The rate at which successful applicants in an occupational group are registered normally depends on when the profile was compiled and considered by this committee. Occupational groups which are smaller in size and more homogeneous in their composition are usually dealt with first as there is less likelihood of going back to the applicants for clarification of information provided in their application.
Requests for Reconsideration
7.
At the last meeting, members noted that a special inter- departmental working group had been set up to deal with requests for reconsideration from GOC and DSC applicants who had been rejected on account of insufficient points. As at 30 September 1992 a total of 56 requests for reconsideration had been received. The group had held 5 meetings and had examined 50 cases, all of which were in the GOC. In all cases the group confirmed the previous decision to reject them.
8.
Among the requests received, 5 were from SSC applicants and 1 from an EC applicant. They have been considered by the Task Group on the EC and the Security Branch respectively and have been rejected.
9.
There has been no judicial review of any application.
