BRITISH NATIONALITY (HONG KONG) ACT 1990:
LIST OF BRITISH UNDERTAKINGS
1.
I have some comments on your draft submission and attached lists.
2.
•
In paragraph 3 of the submission you refer only to British companies but the definition of a "British undertaking" is "a company or firm which the Governor is satisfied has a close connection with the United Kingdom". Please add the words "and firms" after the word "companies": "company" should have a small "c" except when you refer to "Companies House". You also refer to the "Engineering Training Authority", yet on the list (list 3) it appears as the "Engineering Industry Training Board". I do not know which is the correct name but please use the same name in both places.
3.
In paragraph 4, please add the words "and firms" after the word "companies". A number of those mentioned in list 4 are firms and not companies.
4.
In list 2 I suggest that you revise the title to read "British undertakings; firms and companies established in the UK". List 2 includes firms as well as companies.
5.
In list 3 (organisations which do not qualify as British undertakings), the Bradford College of Art and Technology is listed. It may well be right that it is not incorporated; however, perhaps we should recheck this because there are in list 2 a number of similar bodies which are apparently incorporated, e.g.
Liverpool Polytechnic and
Bradjad & likley Loughborough University of Technology.
Community College.
