Please refer to your minute of 12 July 1991 about the qualification of charitable organisations as British Undertakings under the Hong Kong Selection Scheme. is enclosed for ease of reference).
2. On receipt of your minute we informed BTC that the British Red Cross did qualify and that we would check further on the Salvation Army. The Red Cross have now been approved by the Governor as a British Undertaking for the purposes of the Scheme.
3.
I regret that, (as a result of administrative error in my section), additional supporting documents subsequently obtained from the Salvation Army and Save the Children Fund were not forwarded to you for consideration.
The BTC are now pressing for an early view. I attach the supporting papers, with apologies for the imposition, and would be grateful for your opinion as soon as possible.
