Determination of quotas for the second phase

Purpose
This paper outlines the proposed methodology for determining quotas in the second phase of the British Nationality Scheme (BNS) for :-
(a) the component classes of the Scheme;
(b) various specified occupational groups (OGs) and approved occupations (AOs) in the general occupational class (GOC); and
(c) various services in the disciplined services class (DSC).

It is envisaged that by the end of the first phase of the Scheme, about 39,500 of the total of 50,000 places will have been taken up. The final figure will depend on the take-up rate of the OGs which are under-subscribed, namely "Managers and Administrators" in the private sector (OG1N) in the GOC and the Royal Hong Kong Police Force in the DSC.
