Present position

Members had considered the profiles of all occupational groups in the GOC and the DSC by the end of 1991 and advised that personality checks and verification interviews be carried out for applicants who scored the highest number of provisional points thin the quota of their selected occupational group. Members have note date the results of

personality checks and verification interviews on a total of 20,744 applicants and their dependants in various occupational groups and services in these two classes and have advised that their applications be submitted to the Governor for recommendation to the Secretary of State for registration.

Recently, the Immigration Department has completed personality checks and verification interviews on another 1,675 principal applicants, their 1,116 spouses and 1,328 minor children in 15 occupational groups at Annex A Annex A. The checks and interviews have not revealed any adverse information on any of these applicants or their dependants. All the 1,675

are their 2,444 dependants

suitable for principal applicants and recommendation by the Governor to the Secretary of State for registration pursuant to Section 1(1) and Schedule 2 respectively of the British Nationality (Hong Kong) Act 1990, subject to confirmation of no change in the applicants' circumstances.
