Dear Mr Woodrow
I enclose a copy of a letter we have received from a British citizen resident in Hong Kong who is concerned about his wife's nationality status. Previous correspondence is also enclosed.
I have put together a draft reply which covers BN(0) status, naturalisation as a BDTC and the circumstances in which we would be prepared to waive excess absences in relation to an application for naturalisation as a British citizen. However, Captain Ford has raised a point about Chinese exit visas and I would be grateful if you could suggest a form of words for my reply which would deal with this.
