Sorry to have set hares running: we should probably not have included the possibility of an autumn visit on our list,
even as a very tentative item.
Assuming that the EC/ASEAN meeting takes place as scheduled on 30 and 31 October (itself not a foregone conclusion), the Secretary of State will probably not have time to stop off anywhere on his way to Manila. He may repeat may have a day or two in hand on his way back which might or might not be used for official business, but this will not be clear for a couple of weeks. We shall let you know when the diary is more settled.
