Inflation in recent years is more a consequence of Hong Kong's economic success, spurred to a large extent by the growing economic links between Hong Kong and South China and the extension of Hong Kong's manufacturing activities into South China. Notwithstanding inflation, most people in the community are enjoying rising standards of living.
