The Yuen Yuen Institute is a well-known Buddhist-Tavist monastery in Tsuen Wan. Established
in 1953, the Institute has expanded to become
a charitable organisation.
The Institute is situated on the scenic hillside of Lo Waź and comprises a main Temple and other worship halls. Visitors are attracted to the Institute by its unique Chinese architecture, colourful worship halls, landscaped gardens
and its horticultural works. It is known for its 'Bonsais' and its rich collection of Chinese antiques and artefacts.
The Institute runs 3 kindergartens,
1 primary scheel, 2 secondary schools and a Home for the Aged located in various parts of Hong Kong. Apart from charity work, the Institute also donates generously to a wide range of community activities in Tsuen Wan. It derives its income mainly from worshippers. donations and religious services.
Clague Garden Estate
The Claque Garden Estate is built and run
by the Hong Kong Housing Society which is a non-profit
making statutory organization incorporated in 1951.
The Housing. Society now runs three housing estates
in Tsuen Wan and has plans for redeveloping the older
estates.
