She also reflected the conflicting views within Wan

Chai DB on whether there should be more directly elected seats

in Legislative Council in 1995. One view was in support of

more directly elected seats in 1995 but another argued that

constitutional development in Hong Kong prior to 1997 should

keep pace with the relevant provisions of the Basic Law.
