You minuted in manuscript about Mr Goodlad's wish to visit Hong Kong during the Whitsun recess, noting that you would put up a formal request once your Minister had talked to the Governor of Hong Kong this week.
I confirm that Mr Goodlad spoke to the Secretary of State about an early visit to Hong Kong and that the Secretary of State would be entirely happy for him to go to the Colony at the end of May as he suggests.
