It Goodlad
That is one of the subjects that obviously we want to consult about and which the Governor will want to consult about.
Sally Blyth
Now while you are here you are also going to be meeting the head of the New China News Agency in Hong Hong, Mr Zhou Nan amid the continuing controversy over the financing of the airport project. What would your message to Mr Zhou be?
Mr Goodlad
Well I am much looking forward to meeting him, I have never met him before and I think we will probably be discussing quite a wide range of subjects which may well include the airport, but I think it will depend on where we are at the time, rather, what I have to say to him.
Sally Blyth
Do you hope that if no agreement is reached through the informal discussions which are now taking place. That you might he able to persuade China to accept these proposals?
Mr Goodlad
Well I hope that the discussions will be a success and given goodwill on all sides I am sure they will be.
Sally Blytb
Britain also expressed its concern about the problem of law and order and the rising crime rate. Is this an issue you also intend to raise with Mr Zhou?
Mr Goudl ad
It is something that we have talked to the Chinese about and as you know various initiatives are in hand and the Hong Kong Government has talked to China about it and I expect I probably will be talking to Mr Zhou Nan about it.
Sally Blyth
In what context?
