you
Thank you for copying to me your letter of 24 November to John Boyd. I have shown it to the Governor.
As I think you know, the Governor is planning to be in the UK for the week before Easter (i.e. 5-8 April) and was intending to stay on for a short holiday over the Easter weekend and the following week. He entirely understands that, given the present political situation in the UK, Ministers prefer to make major overseas visits during the Parliamentary recess. And of course he would welcome a visit to Hong Kong by either the Prime Minister or the Secretary of State. But he hopes that if either of them come here, it would be possible for the visit to take place as late as possible in the Easter recess. I would be grateful if you could arrange to feed this thought into the planning process!
Your ear,
Tikr
