As to dates, the trip will obviously need to coincide with Parliamentary sitting weeks in both countries. Subject to that, the Lord President has clear in his diary the 3 weeks from Saturday 5 September to Sunday 27 September. It would be difficult to shift the latter date much, since Party Conference is in the week beginning Sunday 4 October and the Lord President would ideally like the week before that in his constituency; and Parliament here reassembles on Monday 19 October.

You agreed to consult Canberra and Wellington to see what the likely reaction would be to the idea of a visit focused on these objectives. Do let me know if you would like any further information at this stage.
