LORD CAITHNESS' VISIT TO HONG KONG FEBRUARY 1992

1.

I attach an agreed list of briefs which are required for

the visit. A copy of the draft programme is attached.

2. I should be grateful if those marked would take responsibility for preparing the briefing in the usual layout liaising where necessary with DTI etc.

This will allow ample time for the Minister to request any revisions or supplementary briefing Heeessary, in geed time for us to submit the final brief (preferably by 7 February, but in any event no later than, 11 February).

3. PS/Lord Caithness has agreed that as on the last twe visits, the briefing should be as concise as possible. Key

facts and figures should be sufficient background for most of the subjects. Any points to make should seldom exceed one page of A4. Checklists will be principally "memory joggers", listing key subject headings with essential lines to take in telegraphic form.
