Thank you for your letter of 27 January 1992, answering our earlier letter to you on the Sino-British Joint Liaison Group (JLG).
We have taken careful note of the points made in your letter. While the Foundation remains concerned -
as do all the people of Hong Kong about the operation of the JLG, we appreciate your fuller explanation of the rationale of the British Government's actions.
We understand that you are to visit Hong Kong again in the near future. We would very much like to meet you to explain how we believe Britain can help Hong Kong and foster better relations with China over the coming
years.
