the National People's Congress (NPC) Delegation
Mr YAO GUANG
Born in March, 1921, in Xiyang County, Shanxi Province. Currently Member of the NPC Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of the NPC Foreign Affairs Committee. Served successively as Deputy Director of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Resources Department of North China Administrative Committee. Division Chief of the Foreign Affairs Division of Hubei Province. Deputy Director of the Department of West European Affairs of Foreign Ministry, Counsellor of Chinese Embassy to Poland, Director of the Second Department of Asian Affairs. Director of the Department of European and American Affairs of Foreign Ministry; Chinese Ambassador to Poland, Canada, Mexico, Egypt and concurrently Djibouti, France and concurrently Djibouti. Since 1982, served as Vice-Minister of the Foreign Ministry. In 1988, elected as Deputy to NPC, Member of the NPC Standing Committee and Vice-Chairman of the NPC Foreign Affairs Committee.

Mr SUN JINGWEN
Born in April, 1916,
1916, in
in Huanghua County, Hebei Province. June 1946- December 1952, served as Vice-Chairman of Chahar Province, Major of Zhanjiakou. 1953-1958, Deputy Director of General Department of City Construction of the State Council, Vice-Minister of Urban and Rural Construction Ministry. 1958- 1964, Vice-Minister of Petroleum Industry. 1964-1972, Vice-Minister in charge of the State Construction Commission. Chairman of Tianjin Municipal Construction Commission. 1975-1978, Minister of Petroleum and Chemical Industry. 1978-1982, Minister of Petroleum Industry. Member of the Sixth and Seventh NPC Standing Committee.
3. Mr ZHOU JIE
Born in December, 1927 in Funing County, Jiangsu Province. Since 1944 guerrilla member in the third Division of Funing County, Chairman of the Gongxing Township, Member of the Standing Committee of the General Trade Union of Yanfu Division. Since 1945, member of the General Trade Union of Central China, Member of the Standing Committee of the General Trade Union of the Fifth Sub-Division of Central China. Since 1949, successively served as teacher of the Party History Research Section, Chief of the Political Economics Teaching and Research Section, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs of the Central Cadre School of the Chinese Communist Youth League. Since 1972, Deputy Director of the People's Publishing House. Since 1988, Deputy to the Seventh NPC, Member of the NPC Law Committee, Deputy Secretary-General of the NPC Standing Committee.
