1. Ambassador Ma, during his call on Sir J Coles yesterday, again raised the question of the McConnell Bill which was of serious concern to the Chinese Government, particularly since the Bill now had the support of State Department. The Chinese did wish the vagueries of US-China relations to upset confidence in Hong Kong.
