Quoting a Chinese source, the HK Daily News reported that member of the JLG Chinese Team in HK Zheng Wairong would be transferred to the State Council's HK and Macau Affair Office to head a research section on affairs in HK and Macau. If a proposal to invite a HK citizen to be the HK and Macua affairs adviser became materialised, the adviser would be responsible to Mr Zheng.

A wide range of issues was raised by the 23 callers to R-1's "Talkabout" on Tuesday (December 31).
The announcement that the Governor would retire in 1992 prompted comments from six callers. Most of them were dissatisfied with the performance of Sir David, with one caller describing his tenure as a period of disaster for HK people. They generally felt that people's livelihood had worsened as a result of his failure to bring inflation under control. One caller was particularly unhappy with Sir David's handling of the airport issue and the labour importation scheme.
One caller, however, praised Sir David for his efforts in resolving the airport crisis. Another caller admitted that the job of the Governor was not an easy one, adding that he constantly faced pressure from Chine, Britain and HK.

The release of Lau Shan-ching remained a topic of interest. callers expressed support for Mr Lau while one caller felt that Mr Lau had been treated leniently by China, considering the seriousness of the
crime he had committed.
One caller criticised the forthcoming demonstration to be staged by the HK Alliance in Support of the Patriotic Democratic Movement in China as damaging to HK's stability. Sharing the

The proposal to introduce a sewerage disposal levy on every household drew reactions from two callers. One of them said the levy would affect people's livelihood while the other hailed it as an appropriate measure to improve the environment.
