Secretary of State's Dinner for the outgoing Governor of Hong Kong: 21 July 1992
The Secretary of State was grateful for your minute of 22 June covering a draft guest list for his dinner for the Governor. He has confirmed that he would like the dinner to go ahead in the Locarno Room.
The Secretary of State would like us to ask Lord Wilson who he wants at the dinner. The Secretary of State is content with the list you have suggested except that he does not think that Ambassador Ma should be invited. He thinks that we should ask Lord Wilson to suggest a senior journalist who he would like to invite. He also thinks that Princess Alexandra and Sir Angus Ogilvy (as regular visitors to Hong Kong) would be suitable guests. The Secretary of State would also be glad to invite Lord and Lady Wilson's two sons if he would like that.
