I understand that your two younger daughters will be accompanying you. Do you have any special wishes as regards their car travel arrangements? Currently we are planning to put them in the second official car in the motorcade, with Mrs Patten and my wife but we can easily modify this.
(c) Would you like your daughters to attend the
entire arrival programme? I assume they would want to be present at the swearing-in ceremony, but if one or both of them would like to skip the subsequent reception at Serial No. 22 and go to Government House ahead of you this can easily be arranged. one will mind in the slightest.

No
The reception is scheduled to last for 55 minutes and there will be, in round terms, 800 guests. You may not have time to shake all these hands and I suggest that you speak to people in groups rather than
individually. Would you be content with this arrangement?
Still on the subject of the reception, would you and Mrs Patten like to move among the guests separately or would you prefer to do this together?
If you have any additional queries on the outline programme we will be very pleased to try and answer them. We can of course run through all the details when I see you in London.
Yours sincerely,
David Four
