7. Finally, you will note from my letter to the Minister reference to income tax. At present I do not pay local income tax because, as the Queen's representative, I am deemed to be exempt from tax. If this is to change in the UK in April, and I imagine it is, then whatever Governor's salary is paid will need to be grossed up for tax, presumably at the punitive Gibraltarian rate.
